You and the author assume that a disservice is being done to the child based solely on the notion that the name is a turn-off to the hiring person. Even if such a handicap were still to be a handicap two decades from now when our hypothetical child enters the workforce, we are still being asked to assume that such an impediment would trump all of the potential advantages to having a "black" name.
