... or over-reacting or something. had he been back to respond to me suggesting that he didn't typically think things through, in general? he was just kind of irking me to the point of making himself a target via blanket castigation of the board for opinions he was more-or-less assigning. there would be a whole degree of pragmatism that he seems to be completely overlooking. and would we possibly have not been better off to let Pickens walk in '99 than paying him 3mil in bonus so he could show his ass and walk the next season anyway? maybe that was coloring their decison - not that one would typically compare Spikes and Pickens's respective tactics and character, but just that he had made himself crystal clear to them on his feelings?
