In reply to: suzi_q 's message, "I take it the Jungle is still blown up....." on 11:18:30 03/13/03 Thu

I haven't the faintest clue as to what happened. I left town for a few days, and damned if somebody didn't go and blow the whole damn place to bits. Losing the Jungle is bad enough, but my spiritual side can't go more than a few days without some uplifting conversation on the Take a Knee board.

All is relatively well with the Baloneys. Our babysitter is out of the hospital after 15 days in, with a daylong vacation. She had a stroke three Sundays ago and rushed to the public hospital in her neighborhood. They proceeded to keep her there for 9 days before releasing her with very little direction. Sure enough after one day home, she got a terrible migraine and numbness again, so she went back. I said, "Fuck that" and got the hospital I rep to admit her at their place (they have a superb stroke center). They checked her in, helped her apply and get Medicaid, and then actually went about trying to figure out what the hell was wrong. She was released two days ago and is home getting better. Toni and I had to scramble for two weeks to juggle work and child care, which was tough. Luckily, we decided to bring her mom up and she's been helping the last week. Toni's mom is a caring person and Sam adores her, but my god, she's a train wreck. Very spacy. I came home last night to find the oven door wide open and the rack pulled out, and Sam playing about two feet away from it. While Toni and I appreciate her help to no end, both of us are afraid for Sam's safety while we're at work.

Are you sorry you asked? How's things with you?
