kind of easy to sit at your computer, read news accounts and laugh at how stupid the enemy is. You have no idea of the motivations, fears, rationales or mindsets of the people who did it. Ah, but it looks stupid to military analyst Lawshark so it must be stupid.

I fear this country and its cocksure, jingoistic citizenry is in for a rude awakening. Maybe not today or next week or next month. But we're getting pretty darned drunk on our military might and more than a little complacent about our responsibilites and limitations as the globe's lone superpower and about our need for allies across the globe. The term "ugly Americans" has never been more apt.
