Subject: I think you can find dark humor even in war

But you were right about this issue. It does appear that those poor bastards were forced into it...not that they made a futile and stupid attack. That is different...but I don't think that it was as simple as adding 2 plus 2 to get there. Yes, we were starting to get reports of Iraqis forcing people to fight, but I don't think that it necessarily followed that any time there was an Iraqi attack it must be a forced suicide attack.

Look at that column from Bagdhad that tried to "sneak up" on our troops under cover of the sandstorm, thinking that we wouldn't be able to stop them. When they got within a mile or two, the F-16's disabled the first handful of vehicles to stop the column and then a handful of B-52's annhilated the entire line. That was also a suicide mission but one that I think falls into the category I initially viewed the tank v. pickup truck incident in. I think you can, without being an evil bastard, look at that incident and chuckle about those "dumb fvcking bastards". They were coming in to kill OUR troops and their stupidity in doing so brought about their end. Is it tragic also? Sure. But I think there is some dark humor in it too.

Like I said, sue me. But I don't think that my reaction to it is that out of line...although you may say that that is an indication of problems in our country.
