I was obsessing about the Rogaine comment last night. And I ask my wife basically, what was up with that? I'm not losing my hair back there, am I? She just started laughing. I innocently said "What?" She said, don't you know what your own hair is doing? No, I say, we're talking about the back of my head. Why would I look there? I'm not the type to break out a second mirror and study such things. She says, okay let's do it. So, we get the second mirror out and take a look. I immediately shriek like a 10-year-old girl watching "Halloween" for the first time. I follow that up with God damn. I'm going bald. Toni just started laughing like I haven't heard her laugh before. She started crying she was laughing so hard at one point. Of course, the laugh was half-hysteria, half-terror, as she didn't know how I was going to react. (I ended up getting the giggles as well).

Hey, did you know that a man's baldness/hair loss patterns follows the grandfather's on the mother's side? I had no idea until last night. All this time, I was taking comfort in the dignified way my father is losing his hair. Talk about your rude awakenings!
