Subject: Maple0leaf-type Begonia

I bought one on Saturday at the Christmas fair for Newcastle school - early, yes, but it's hard to book the hall at this time of year; it's small and dark red - do I treat it like my Rex begonia? I must say I've only read about it before.

i didnt mean to ignore you.
this heracleifolia is the only thing that looks anything like a maple leaf.
the only difference i see between this and the rex is the suggestion to use distiled or rain water.
im sure by this time youve found all the info you need,i only hope this helps some.

Thank you, Denny, you are always a star. In fact, I forgot about the post myself also - and the begonia seems to be doing fine - I repotted it and stood it beside its cousin -

Is this begonia growing from a rhizome or is it upright? I have an unnamed begonia with maple-y shaped leaves. Mine is a cane type one, and is doing well on my strict benign-neglect regime. I adore the thing. It's kind of reddish with some silvery stripes here and there on the leaves.
