Three men were due in court today charged with attempted murder, following a fire in south Belfast on Boxing Day.

The defendants were expected to appear at Laganside Magistrates' Court this morning on charges relating to the blaze at Ireton Street on Sunday evening.

The trio also face charges of arson with intent to endanger life.

A man in his 50s was hospitalised after a serious assault in the house, which was badly fire-damaged.
