Subject: Dawn has untapped potential

To pardon the pun, but Dawn has a lot of untapped "Potential."
She is, after all, part Slayer (with Summers blood) and is part Key (an untapped source of mystical energy). She has also dabbled in witchcraft as in "Forever" when she tried to bring her mother back and "Conversations with Dead People" when she cast the demon out of the house when it was trying to keep her from talking to her mother).
She has also become an adept fighter who still goes unnoticed and underappreciated by her sister.
And I suspect the orangey bolt of light aimed at the SIT Amanda was also meant for her.
I believe Dawn will be brought out into the forefront toward the end of the season. It's a combination of some stuff I've read but won't give away, my gut feeling and my instincts as a reporter.

I hope you are right.
However, some are also saying that maybe the end of the season will be a repat of "The Gift", only this time little sis will make the sacrifice for everyone.
If I were in charge, I'd let that happen, but she'd re-appear in L-A, where Angel can take care of her (especially when she has proto-Slayer skills). Eventually, she'd be reunited witb Buffy, but she'll stay in L-A to eventually become the slaye for that area...just after college, preferably. That can be the basis of a spinoff where Angel's Fang Gang can protect the town, and help develop Dawn.
