Macha: Australia..maybe?

Tamora Pierce: I read some of her stories in a MZB anthology, but none of her books. Is she the one that has Alanna?

I didn't finish LOTR either, got halfway thru the second book, got bored, and quit. No offense to anyone, but Tolkein is not the best author out there. Wonderful imagery and creates very real stories, but it drags like nothing else. And the language is too whimsical for me. ( "Alas!" he cried, springing to his feet. ) Ai yi yi. But I will read the book before the movie, which, by the way, I think was waaay better than the book. Erm.

Yes, I read the Discworld books.... by far the funniest books I've ever read... I just fall off my chair laughing..

And the one with the cat...is that Lilian Jackson Braun, with the siamese cat that solves mysteries?

Has anyone read Patricia McKillip, The Inheritor (MZB), Burning Water (MLackey), gack! ::thinks::... erm. merf. merf. David Eddings, those were good.... erm, ah! Mickey Zucker Reichert! I like those books as well as the MLackey books, if not better! And Jennifer Roberson, the Lady of the Forest book (made me sad....wanted to lose my shoe in the Sheriff's anatomy), and, even better, the Sword Dancer series? ExCeLlEnT books.... and anyone read Kate Eliott? King's Dragon, Child of Fire, etc....very well written, but things go from bad to worse to horrible for the characters and I couldn't take it, so I quit. On that vein, anyone read the Catherine Kurtz books, Camber the Heretic and all that? Stupid ending....

Sorry, done ranting...
