France is NOT the bastion of diplomacy....they have monetary interest(as do Russia and Germany) in keeping Saddams' regime in power, for a new one will not honor the oil development contracts worth BILLIONS. They vowed to veto ANY new resolution which included a military response option. This even though they voted to pass resolution 1441 that called for SEVERE consequences for non-compliance. What did they think 'severe' meant? Velveeta cheese instead of brie? A condition of Saddam being allowed to remain in power after Gulf War I...12 years ago, was that he disclose, disarm and destroy WMD like those he used on his OWN people, within 45 days.

All who have defected since then have attested to the fact that he is playing a hide and cheat game with them, and still possesses the majority of this arsenal.

Therefore, he has broken the peace agreement that he signed...and he cannot remain in power.

We are enforcing the peace agreement that the UN did not have the stomach to do for itself.

You believe Saddam when he said he didn't have any WMD? He also told Dan Rather that he would never order Iraqi oil fields to be set on fire....as I type this there are about 7 of them burning, and many others found with explosives wired to them. Letting Saddam remain in power to allow the false sense of security through ineffective inspections is NOT peace.

No one WANTS war, and no one WANTS to see innocent Iraqis die. Do you think Saddam has such concern for those in his country? To avoid conflict, was he open and forthcoming about his weapons? Did he accept exile from any number of countries that extended it? No. Our military and the coalition forces are doing a fine job thus far of trying to keep that to a minimum. Unfortunately, sometimes it is the lesser of two evils. The US is not alone in this.

Britain and Australia have committed troops, and others are supporting in other ways, whether it be use of airspace or specialists sent in, in a consulting role.

The US is not a terrorist.
Does a terrorist ATTEMPT diplomatic measures beforehand?
Does a terrorist TELL you when and where they are coming?
Does a terrorist go OUT OF THEIR WAY to avoid innocent loss of life?
Does a terrorist ALLOW time to get out?
Do terrorists REBUILD after destroying? No.

Hopefully, this will be a fast war with limited casualties on BOTH sides. Then a new gov't that will respect and represent ALL the factions of Iraqi society will come to be.

And then folks like the protestors...and the French can rally around as if they were in support the whole time, and that they did more to achieve that end than they really did.

The protestors, many of them college students...doing the 'college protesting thing' are looking more and more like just a bunch of mindless sheep....repeating the chants of old and spewing the same lines that their PAID activist organizers, who will protest ANY cause that pays the rent, and who don't have classes anymore, tell them to. Funny that their 'peace' rallies turn violent! How DOES violence get their idea of NO WAR across, anyway? Maybe if they stayed in class, they would have learned more effective means of affecting change. I wonder how many of them make a regular habit of VOTING? And to the folks who take their CHILDREN to the rallies with them....WHERE IS YOUR HEAD?!? It is one thing to instill your beliefs in your child...but to KNOWINGLY put them in a potentially volitile situation is just absurd!

Do they really believe their child has a firm grasp of international affairs? What if, and it has happened in several places, violence breaks out, and the police must go into action? What if a terrorist would seize on this 'target of opportunity,' for they are just as much American scum as any other, and they've managed to put themselves in a tidy bunch? Heck, what if they ONLY got hauled off to jail? Hmmm...then they will be paying bail AND dealing with Childrens' Services. Who would they blame for their NEGLIGENCE? The police? Bush? I'm sure anyone but themselves.

But what intrigues me is, HOW will these people tell the Iraqi citizens, once they are liberated(and they WILL be liberated), that they had protested to PROLONG their torment under the brutal regime of Saddam Hussein? Which is basically all that would happen if more time for inspections were given...for Saddam made no moves to comply, until forces were amassing on his border.

Oh...and all the 'No War for Oil!' folks.....I hope they've been carpooling in an electric station wagon to get to their rallies, and in any other areas of life. I'm sure they would never increase US dependence on foreign oil....

Those who say you support the troops, but rally against the war or the President...do they THINK for one moment that the men and women fighting oversees see a distinction?? They see images of 'anti-the job they are doing' people yelling, and some who even take the time to smear' blood' on themselves. They say 'Bring them home and keep them safe!' They CHOSE this job, they KNOW the risks.

Do they even realize how incredibly stupid that sounds when they say that?? Why would a country bother having an armed force if they are 'too afraid it might get hurt'?? They expect an insane man(Saddam) to act rationally for the good of the world. That says VOLUMES about all of them. The war has started, their point was made on day one...now why can't they do something CONSTRUCTIVE?? Oh, that's right....that takes more effort than walking down the street day after day beating a dead horse and criticizing.

To those who say, "What have THEY done to US?" Let me just remind them that the United States is MORE than just the continental 50 states. It is anywhere we have an embassy, a military base, a ship, or a tourist.
