Subject: Welcome to Education

•Technology is changing the way we work in schools and in business
--What similarities do you see and why is this an important issue to be addressed?
--What changes are currently happening within Indiana and on the national level that will affect education?
--Are there critical issues that we need to be aware of as this transition occurs?

--High stake testing is changing the way teachers think about teaching and learning
--As the emphasis shifts from teaching to learning, how can technology support this change?

•Student learning is enhanced through exposure to culturally rich learning experiences
--What are some examples of technology supporting culturally rich curricula?
--How does this emphasis change both teaching and learning?

•The future of educational institutions is also changing (ie home schooling, distance learning, charter schools).
--How will technology support these efforts? What successful examples could you share with us?

•As we look to the bigger issue, the digital divide, how can we assure that Indiana’s students will not be left behind?
