Subject: Barbecued Meatballs

Often I will make the next recipe to take to a barbecue. It is simple to prepare and transport, tastes delicious and is a winner.

BARBECUED MEATBALLS

2 pounds lean ground beef (this is delicious using ground venison or moose

meat)

1 cup quick cooking rolled oats

3/4 cup evaporated milk

1/2 cup finely chopped onions

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon garlic salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Mix the above ingredients well and shape into two dozen 1 1/2 inch meatballs. Put in single layer in greased 9" x 13" pan. Bake in 375 degree oven for 30 minutes. Remove and pour the sauce over the meatballs and return to the oven for 20-30 minutes more.

Sauce: 1 cup tomato ketchup

2/3 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon liquid smoke (You can find this in your supermarket

in the condiment section; do not omit)

Mix ketchup, brown sugar and liquid smoke. Pour over meatballs

as directed above.
