Subject: Teeth (again)

Hi all, I posted a while back about one of my FS teeth; I thought she might have fractured it, broke it, did God knows what to it. It actually looked like a thin piece of a sunflower seed husk. Anyway, after that post she seemed to remain in her sock/cage for the longest and would only come out when I wasn't in the room. Then she started coming out again and I got a look at the tooth and it was rather long -- suggestions from the forum were hard nuts, try to drill it myself. Well, I opted for the hard nuts, but that hasnpt worked. I got a good look at it the other day and it has now curved and is almost going into the skin on her jaw. I found a vet in the area that deals with "exotics" and they do dentistry. My question is this: Do their teeth have nerve endings in them? Will they be able to file this tooth down to normal, or will they have to pull it? Do they use an anesthetic? Will this cause her pain? She is eating okay, I make sure that she gets extra calories/proteins in really small bite size nuggets so she doesn't struggle. I feel like such a neglectful mother!
