Subject: Zoe Warrior Princess has died!

With a very sad heart I must tell you all that my very first flyer, Zoe Warrior Princess, has died tonight. Zoe was going on 7 years old, and I had had her since she was just a week or so old. She was fine last night, or appeared to be, but I noticed that she did not come out tonight when the others did; I waited a bit, because I was changing out overalls and nest boxes and when she did not appear I got out her overalls and found her curled up in her cotton balls, as though asleep. I could tell that she had only been dead for a very short time, which made me feel all the worse for not having looked sooner. She does not show any signs of trauma; and other than shedding a bit of weight lately (which she needed, actually), everything was the same as always with Zoe. Last night she came out and shirt dived as normal and then scooted out to play. I know that she has lived a wonderful life here with us and I know that she knew she was very loved and very special. But my heart is absolutely breaking to know she has left me and I don't know why. I will miss her so much.
