Al, this is a common occurrence with most 928’s. In fact mine did this only a week or two after I purchased it. There are many things that affect the fuel injection system. One of which are sensors the others are the relays; check valve and a leak in the fuel system (which includes a leaky injector). Being new to the 928 and its idiosyncrasies I started replacing (like you) the relays and then the sensors. After replacing the sensors the car then started right up (for a sort while any way). Then started acting up again.

Not having the time to do the proper troubleshooting, I removed the cover on the spare fuel pump relay I now had, and installed it in place of the new one that I had just bought. Then when it (the car) decided it didn’t want to start. I could (and did) just simply and quickly pull the carpet out of the way and lift the central panel lid and manually engaging the fuel pump with my fingertip (Pressing down on the contacts), with key in the off position. If you listen very close you can here the pump changes tones/pitch when it has pressured up the fuel lines. I don’t think I held it down for more then 15 seconds. This worked great for me and was less embarrassing then cranking it over and over or waiting for “IT” to decide to start.

Here are a few suggestions that I have read about in the past.

1. Clean all sensor contacts
2. Clean all ground points.
3. Check fuel pressure at fuel rail (you will new to buy and install the gauge).
4. Replace Fuel Check Valve (located on pump).

Cheers
