Greetings Art,

My 88S4 suffers the exact same problem. At Devek days on the ride and drive south, I finally just kept driving until the empty fuel tank lamp came on. Pulled into a station and the car took 18 gallons. So, now I've just gotten into the habit of resetting the odometer at fuel ups. I've had the car long enough now (2 years) that I can just tell from mileage on the odometer how much I have left in the tank. On a recent roadtrip from LA to Scottsdale AZ, I managed 400 miles while driving in the 90 to 100 mph range. Drove a few minutes longer and when I finally did pull in the car took 20 gallons.

Marc at Devek briefly explained the fix to me and though I can't remember all the details, (he was fueling up the White Car on the other side of the pumps and I was drooling)after about three sentences in, I do remember it seemed like more headache than it was worth. The car is utterly predictable in it's fuel consumption in both city driving and highway or any combination thereof.

Anyway, enjoy your 88S4!!
