Hey just let me say that alot of new jumpers can have this problem. It sounds like mabye he is a little afraid and unsure of whats happening. When I train a horse to jump sometimes I run into the same problem but if the horse knows I am confident then that helps him out a whole lot. Just ride him up to the jump like normal and then the last few strides look up and really really drive with your seat and legs to get him there and over it. Make him know that you are confident he can do it and that you are going over it together!!! hope I was helpful e-mail me if you want to chat some more!!!! just click on my name then!!!!
