Hi Jane,

I'm glad you found this site. I put it together just on a whim a couple of years ago. I graduated in 1966 and I think you were in some of my classes in junior high and senior high school. I went to Marvin elementary.
I remember that day when President Kennedy was shot very well too, I guess everyone does. I was in Mrs. Nolan's spanish class and everything went so silent when it came over the P.A. I remember some sudents crying and it was so sad. Like you said, the halls had a terrible silence between classes.
I really enjoyed the Handy House too. Today they could not have a place like that where the kids could go to eat. I loved his french fries and I remember that they charged for catsup so we would use mustard on them! I also remember my favorite song on the juke box was "Blue Moon" and it seemed like it was always playing.
Oh.. I had that math teacher with the meter stick too and I got whacked with it a few times. I think his name was Mr. Drisey (sp?). He was a good old guy with a sense of humor though.
