Redskins may have been a slight at the turn of the 20th century, maybe, probably further back than that. Hell, since I've been around Black people have been "pc" named negroes, black people and african americans, the current "african americans" is the most rediculous of them all, since the vast majority of "african americans" haven't been on or from the African continect in well over a 100 years. Now, if you immigrated from africa and have become a citizen, that would be a proper naming. but when you trace your heritage back 10 genrations on US soil/american soil how do the black americans relate to africa? That would be like the mexican people calling themselve spanish. Or Brazilians, portuguese. American black people are no more african than I am a indian.lol I have more eastern european blood in me than Cherokee.Yet at a 1/4 I can vote in tribal elections and have more indian blood than many voting members of the tribe.
