Unfortunately, we live in a world where it takes promotion to fund things. Your passion is breast cancer research? It's not enough to go to corporate (or private) donors and say "this is important". You have to promote the cause to get funding. Ribbons, fun-runs, selling cookies, whatever. What's the old bumper-sticker line? "It will be a great day when our schools get all the money they need and the air force has to hold a bake sale to buy a bomber."

Well, welcome to the real world. Sexy sells. And, let's face it, boobs (breast cancer) are sexier than assholes (prostate cancer).
