Subject: Could the gurus be to blame?

Why in the hell does it cost so much to enter a damn pageant nowadays? I remember when my kid first entered a pageant like 8 years ago and when she won beauty at a pageant she won 750.00 cash and we only paid maybe 200.00 to enter the whole pageant. And H&M sure was not any where near 300.00. This has gotten out of hand. Directors can easily afford to lower the entry fees and you know what? If they would lower their fees the H&M people would have to because surely no one would pay more for H&M than they would the pageant. Come on people, lets wake up these directors!!

HAIR AND MAKEUP WILL NOT GO A PENNY LOWER THAN THEIR PRICE. DIRECTORS ARE CONSTANTLY REDUCING THEIR FEES, SPECIALS, PHOTO CONTESTS. PAGEANTS ARE A ROCK BOTTOM LOW NOW AND HAIR AND MAKEUP KEEP GOING UP UP UP.

Why does every contestant think they have to have hair and makeup? What happened to the days not too far past the everyone did their own hair and makeup and looked like themselves? Maybe we all better get back to the basic's and show the world exactly what our children look like!!!!!!!!

>I totally agree. When I competed, my mom did my hair and makeup. The one pageant when she paid to have it done(by two very reputable people), i did the same in facial beauty as i did when she did my makeup and i had a LOT less makeup on. Let ur kids be who they are. If they dont need or want the makeup, dont pay someone outrageous sums to have a HUGE amount put on their faces. Your kids are naturally beautiful.
