The tacky house observation is quite interesting. I wonder if some of these contestants realized they lack style. They should take a hint from these boards and perhaps get their act together in the chic department. Then again, if they do… Will the state judges understand such understatement? It is quite possible that the pageantry look is still prevalent simply because that is exactly what is expected. Perhaps deviating from such look might lessen the chances of winning.
