Ah, good! Welcome to the game then.. to get a shuttle to the planets, just go to the Station, then post from there that you are taking a shuttle to whichever planet you like. We don't actually have enough players for all the minor characters (such as shuttle pilots) to be played.. so that sort of thing can be posted yourself.
You -can- buy your own ship if it is plausible for your character to have enough money to do so.. you can do that at the Shipyard (the link is in the Station) however, I will be revamping the Shipyard board fairly soon scince the person running it is inactive and it is kind of a mess.. I wouldn't recommend going there until I've fixed it.
You can also get more information from the Lost Colony User's Guide, there is a link at the top of this message board.. I try to add to that fairly regularly, and it just gives users some ideas and guidelines to use in the game.
