I'm having a very hard time getting on the Tanari Infirmary, for some reason, as soon as I get on, my computer freezes. Just so you know, I'm not trying to desert or anything! :-) I'm still here, I just can't get on there for some reason. Sorry!

Sorry, guys..I'll be away again. I'm leaving on Saturday, Aug.17th and will be back online the next Wednesday for certain. I -might- be on Tuesday night.

Those of you reading this.. please relay it to anyone not informed that I am gone.

Fyre and Niamh/Kalia.. as the most active.... if anything bad happens while I'm gone.. I leave it to you two and any guardian you can wrangle to quiet things.

You're bound to have an exciting time...Murphy's law states that when I leave everyone shall become active.... just to annoy me..and those long inactive characters shall spring from the depths of the internet and start to play rapidly before dissapearing the night I get back.

I will be gone from early Friday afternoon to Sunday evening (July 26-28) this weekend.. -Not- that too much has been going on..but pleeease feel free to converse with each other without my prompting.. This means Raven shall be gone as well..soo.. talk-to-each-other.. Do something constructive...just don't get in to any OOC fights. (I seriously doubt you will)
If there -is- a problem which simply cannot wait, you can bring it to Guardian's Lair.. where I hope one the few Guardians not on vacation will be able to help you.
Again.. I seriously doubt any problems with come up in such a short span of time.. you are all so darned compatible.. it's frightning. ;o)

I have added a bit more on the Lost Colony History and Government. Just look at the end of the paragraph on History on the Main Page. This (hopefully) will be of intrest to those of you a bit uncertain about the roles of the Federation and Alliance, what they are 'typically' like and the history of how it got that way.

Thank you! That Communications post was very good.. I -know- you will make a good president...especially for the Feds.
Rebels are freelancers.. Makare is very organized (it seems) and exactly the role we need to enforce the Fed sterotype.

It seems most of the dissagreeable characters are unactive so it shouldn't be a problem. If you like, you can be assigned president by the Federation headquarters. That would also fit into the Fed profile...structured instead of freelance.

And.. I'll gladly play any groups you like. It is rather refreshing to play characters that are not sticking around very long. For some reason I tend to to better with them.
In the meantime..I shall try to have Raven get the rebels a bit more organized...so you have a real opponent.

Well..yes.. I realized that as well. All Jedi do the little mind tricks.. it's also in Episode 1.

Yup, Obi Wan is Anikin's mentor.. the guy with the beard. I have no idea what the creature was.. although earlier Anikin mentioned he thought it was a changeling. So I thought in this context it might of meant she could change appearances..though I don't know. There certainly wasn't any sign that she had changed her appearance.

There is a cargo ship arriving at the Station.. If either side needs anything (which I suggest you do) go there soon. The ship will be staying for as long as you need it... and afterward will be coming every two months. Buy, sell, bargain..whatever. The two sides will probably run into each other and hopefully get things runging a bit.
Soo.. just keep it in mind. No hurry but know that it is there.

What does everyone think of changing the Spaceports to Orbit boards? With Orbit board there could be more off-planet action in battle and give the pilots a chance to do their stuff..

I just had a brainstorm (run away!) and had an interesting idea I thought I'd stick here for ya... what about a board for Orbit of each planet...? like you have the outlands for random stuff on the ground, but you could have a board for the atmosphere or whatever of each planet, that every incoming and outgoing ship must post on, and that's where flybys happen... perhaps instead of the spaceport (a somewhat academic board, if you ask me). You could change the spaceport into the Orbit board or whatever (I am out of cool names ::girn::), and outgoing ships, 'stead of posting at the spaceport, would just invent a shuttle bay or take off from wherever they are, and post on the orbit board, and then they can get the heck out of dodge city... just an idee...

Hey, I just thought I'd let you know about something. Melvin and Juli have somehow communicated.....I'm not sure how. There are no posts where Melvin finds out about something that is going on over on Tanari, and he is on Venhydra. He is in the colony square and Juli is in the Tanari hall. I just though I would let you know because this lack of posts is giving the Fed an advantage over the Allience and isn't truthfully there. I may be completely wrong on this....but I don't think so. PLEASE do something about this!

It seems someone from the Federation has been mini-taping the hall... Since they're from Venhydra, they probly were taping the Tanari Hall (they put Venhydra in, but... might have been a mistake, since it is their side...). In your message titled 'More Questions' you said they should post arrival, departure, working of assignment... Yet, I don't see any posts that say this person arrived on Tanari, went to the hall/taped it, and left... Just said that they taped the hall... This message I'm wondering about was on the Venhydra Square board, the first reply under Jaidah's most recent post, I believe... I forget this char's name (sry... you'll it when you find it).
I hate to be a tattletale or whatever, but I'm wondering on how this was done while following the rules, and what was done exactly. I can gather that the hall was videotaped, but by what? When? How? Thanx

Ok. About your fly over of Tanari..
Firstly, deep space is just that.. deep. To get any good pictures, you would have to be in Tanari's orbit.
Secondly, you said you swooped over Tanari but posted that in Deep space as well..
I need to you to post anything like that on one of the Tanari boards so that the Alliance has a smidgen of chance to know they are being observed. They probably will not.. and the chances are slim that they can do anything about it, at least right away.

I have posted a rule (further down this board.. it will be added soon) that says any mission must show your departure,arrival, the carry out of your mission and return..
Do you have anything you would like me to add to that.. or some exception for fly-overs?

Also before everyone begins fighting again... a word about knowledge.
If one side is to know -anything- about the other side, they must gain the knowledge in character. No matter if you read the boards on both sides and know it as a player.. if your character wasn't there.. then they don't know about it. The same goes for any electronic spying devices.. they must be planted. (and it won't be easy.)
No magical teleporting either... You should post your departure...arrival...working of assignment...and escape.. leaving room for your enemies to find you out.(if you are stealthy, that probably won't happen).

Thankfully I have seen none of you do this.. but some previous players have.

Okay. After the bombing of Tanari Hall it has become obvious that i cannot be -that- easy to destroy buildings. Therefore... Any actual bombings must be planned out before hand (no split second decisions on bombing) and you must consult me first. (e-mail probably, if you don't want everyone to know what you are going to do)
The fighters are for Deep space.. not really for bombing the colonies..
Soo... the in game explanation for this will be that the colonies have put up shielding over each of their main settlements. The colony squares and Halls shall be protected.
This way neither has the advantage, both sides are equal, but it will also press the pilots to Deep Space wars.. which we have had none of yet.

For the holographic 'invisibility' machine things... If say, the object was smaller (say a small droid) would the holographic effect last longer on it than it would on a human being, or a large droid or ship? Jus wondering...

All right, you've already seen me, and I'm quite positive that at this moment you hate me, want to throttle me, and see me strewn across the floor. In many itty bitty little pieces. Mind you many people would like that. But there is a certain degree that a player gets mortally angry, and now is one of those times.

As you already know, Toireasa has just arrived on Tanari, and is waiting at a small transport type ship for Alean to get out, her buddy pal friend. Now I'm normally a perfectly happy camper, being ignored is okay by me, just as long as I don't directly talk to a person. However, when I arrived at the spaceport, Niamh approaches me and immediately demands my name and my purpose for being there. Ouch. As if it isn't enough that I had already been there and ignored once I asked someone something, another person comes up to me, knows who I am and rudely demands my name. My God Badhbh, I don't like that, I don't like that at all.

And it was rude. She might well have held a gun up to Toireasa's head, because the message sure felt that way. I seriously felt threatened. I know this is a war game, I am aware there are spies, I know there are many dangers. But does any new recruitee deserve that? And then to add to that slight (and I admit) small insult, Raven (I believe you play her) approaches me and snaps at me. Ooooh, double ouch. Very double ouch. I'm sorry, I don't mean to start a fight, but I had to bring this up. I love this game, it's one of my favorites, and I won't deny, it must be fun when there is an actual battle happening. But Badhbh, I'm going to quit if I don't at least get some respect. Toireasa is not a spy, she's a rouge pilot and has extensive training, in that area, nothing else.

I want to love this game Badhbh, but I can't if my allies immediately pounce on me.

Ok, i've got a droid that is basically a screen on a band I usually wear on my wrist. One of the things I've programmed it for is to continually scan the area I'm in for new people (if there aren't alot) or if I'm in a populated area it scans for people taking up threatening positions around me. I can program it to 'recognize' allies or special enemies, and notify me. What radius could it scan around me? Would the radius get bigger if I attach it to a bigger power source?

A note for potential settlers.. Feel free to start a buisness! I know few people have wanted to join as 'regular' colonists, but for those who are considering it.. I encourage you to do something. The fighters protect the planet and the government.. you help out by providing the colony with what it needs.
Here are a few to stimulate your imagination
Caf�s, bars, restaraunts - bound to be popular and much needed.
Mechanics- this an age of very advanced technology... things are breaking all the time. Fix and build anything from ships to pistols.
Scientists- well, probably not a very active job, but if you are into inventing cool objects.. I'm sure fighters would be forever grateful for your useful gadgets..
Doctors - the Infirmiry would do a bit better if it had someone to treat people. You should have enough buisness.. people are getting banged up all the time.

Various shops - use your imagination.. as long as it is useful, you will have buisness.

I don't want the fighters to be drowned out by settlers of course... (I doubt that will happen) but for those of you wishing to be in a advanced age without fighting..you would be useful!

Yes, once again I am in need of your valuable opinions. This time it is about the layout. It has been noticed that it can be a bit confusing getting around the colonies and that a few of the boards are inactive. So Morgan has thought of condensing some of the boards together into one main board. (Such as putting the infirmiry, hall and barracks as links in the Colony Square message board.)

Also, some unactive boards, such as the outlands, may be removed for the moment...

What do you think about that? There most likely -will- be changes but if you have any opinions I will respect them so please tell me now before Morgan makes the changes...

Okay. Droids. They are machines, programmed by their builders. Yes, they can have intelligence,but I think I have to draw the line at being -evil- or -good-. So that would mean, no harrassing people they don't know UNLESS those people are bothering the droid's owner.. Do you see what I mean?
Droids may either be with their owner and follow their commands. OR they can be un-owned but neutral... probably wandering around looking for an owner.
What is your opinion on those restrictions?

Hmm.. Well maybe Encyclopedia would be too strong a word, let's stick to Guide.
I am making a page for all of you who get confused about where exactly in the future we are in this game. I need some input from you.. How far should our technology reach? I admit I am not the best person to set standards for weapons and ships. Any terms I should know would be helpful. Most of this will be just suggestions and anything more inventive will be welcomed. But there will be limits on the strength of weapons and medical technology.. just for fairness. An example: a handgun cannot blow up an entire building or ship. Hand guns are not normally long range. If you are dead.. you cannot be rejuvinated unless done so within seconds of the stopping of the heart... Just simple things such as that.
Soo, if you have anything you want included, anything you think I should know or you can help me with.. it would all be helpful!

We have talked and agreed on storyline and other things but I have one question. Our first encounter will result in a fight that is likely to cause some ah... how should I put this... property damage? I was wondering if this would be a little too disruptive or if the almighty lord of this domain (Badhbh I am assuming) doesn't mind a little very localized carnage. Thank you.

The game is finally picking itself up! Seems to me there is more activity, longer more descriptive and orignial messages.. This is the part I love best.. you can actually see all the action before your eyes when games are on their 'high'.. hey, we're on a roll..don't stop now..
