She even dresses like Regine. Has 3 songs linked to Reg. And has some of Reg's own music camp who helped out. And there's more.. stay tuned. I personally like to buy her album. I seen no intent to go against Regine from her. So far.. except a fan said he heard her say she doesn't like Regine. Which would be insane. Still developing.. -mmJun ) ---------------------------------------------- She may not have won the grand prize in Star in a Million but Sheryn Regis proved she’s got what it takes when she also landed a recording contract with Star Records. She did not let being runner-up of the highly rated Star in a Million season 1 discourage her. She instead took it as a challenge. Now, Sheryn is one of the most sought-after artists of the season. Her songs lord over the airwaves, her music video topped the charts and her schedule is so busy it’s a wonder she ever gets to sleep at all. Sheryn is the eldest and only girl in a brood of three. She used to be a member of her school’s chorale and theater group that traveled to Canada and the US, performing for the Filipino community, before joining Star in a Million. Although it was her mother who taught her how to sing at five, Sheryn claims her father is really the singer in the family. Singing has been Sheryn’s passion since she was a child. The first song she memorized was Dito Ba? by Kuh Ledesma. At eight, Sheryn joined a singing competition in Cebu where she won Grand Prize. Her winning piece was the Celeste Legaspi classic, Saan Ako Nagkamali? The album Come In Out Of The Rain contains 10 tracks including the title track Kailan Kaya?, the new theme from the top-rating fantaserye Marina and Sheryn’s latest single, the power ballad Maybe. Sheryn gave the Roberta Flack original a passionate, powerful rendition. It’s enjoying extensive airplay on radio stations nationwide. Other tracks in the album include the Vehnee Saturno-penned Sana’y Di Pangarap and Follow your Dream; the heart-warming Now More Than Ever written by Trina Belamide; and sentimental Sana’y Ingatan Mo by Ricky Sanchez. Sheryn also did a duet in this album with fellow Cebuano and co-finalist in Star In A Million, Johann Escañan. It is a remake of the Lea Salonga classic, We Could Be In Love. Shoobee Doo Wop is the only upbeat single in this album, written and produced by famed songwriter Jonathan Manalo, who incidentally is Sheryn’s albun producer. To express her gratitude to those who supported her from the beginning and to those who continue to support and believe in her, Sheryn has included a Cebuano song composed by Fr. Ponce Jed Bellones entitled Among Gabayan in the album. Sheryn never expected to become this successful. She was just a country lass who wanted to sing. Whatever blessings she has right now, she considers "a dream come true." Come In Out Of The Rain is available in CDs and cassettes at record stores nationwide. It is released by Star Records. Unspoken policy? Well, anyone who watches that show called "Star in a Million" let us know if any of the contestants there ever mention Regine's name as one of their idols. He said that Sheryn will suffer the same fate as those other singers who faded into oblivion as fast as they've risen to stardom. I promised him then that I will go back to this forum in two (2) years time, and see if his prediction have come true or not. And he gladly accepted my challenge. well, I'm back here a year in advance, just to tell that guy that I haven't forgotten his prediction of Sheryn. By the way, Sheryn's latest single is currently in the airwaves, from his recently released second album. I will be back again here a year from now.
