Maybe you failed to find some holes and everything to down mariah and her carreer. Because knowing filipinos when they found some of the things they needed to down other, they keep on showing it around the world and all their companies feasting on it. But all of you guys got wronged when mariah got here to perform she's not lip synching (it's amazing because she should be tired )and once again she has made it through the rain.

Any of Regine's idols information

Here's a slight one from a Regine fan:
(name withheld. I wasn't able to get
permission to post his name.)

I watched MC's concert. Regine was not there. I was seated the same row with Kyla. Kyla is really a mariah die hard. talon siya ng talon and shouting for more.

Ang galing ni Mariah last sunday We heard na medyo happy siya for the Filipinos kaya ganado performance niya. Sa ibang countries daw kasi once or twice lang ang whistle niya pero last sunday almost evry song nagwi-whistle siya. Talagang ganado. Under-estimated ko nga siya eh, pero after the concert iba pala, she's really magaling. Malakas ang stage presence niya. 7 times costume change.

She sang most of her Greatest hits liek Hero, Vision of Love, butterfly, through the rain, etc...

A Regine fan wrote in

:-) thank u!

I agree mariah looked like a barbie doll!!! her legs was so defined
like a barbie doll!! i like that pink top that said "automatic princess"...

I was there, too! It was totally AWESOME!

I really like the way she did those songs - like most people are stunned that night.
I was on the Silver section, I can still see her from my place... she looks like a live Barbie
Doll, especially when she wore that pink shorts and light blue top. She's so HOT, even Miles
from Magic 89.9 said that Mariah can still sing... and belt out her songs! One moment that
Miles cannot forget was when she's introducing the members of the band, she did it by singing
their names - and then "there's a kind of bug on stage that scares me..." And the crowd goes
wild! Hahaha!

After she sang "Make It Happen", she thanked all the people around her - people thought that's the end of the night, but then all of us stood on our chairs and shouted for MORE! The crowd
goes wilder - we want MORE! Then she appeard in a stunning gown and sang "Without You"
(my favorite cover of Mariah), "Vision Of Love"
(the best first single ever), and lastly, "Hero"
which she went down off stage went to the crowd....
AWESOME!

She sang a lot of her songs and the tickets are WORTH it...

After her Manila show she went to the beach?
It was an exclusive place in the country. I heard
it cost about a $1,000 a nite there. I'm sure she
liked it.

At the concert she had in the country? There was
this funny incident where Carey saw what a Philippines
bug/roach looks like and she started making some comments
about it. hehe..

Mariah In Manila
(TAKEN FROM A MARIAH CAREY FAN POST!)

After watching the much anticipated and much waited one-hour and
fifteen minutes concert of diva Mariah Carey at The Fort in Taguig,
Pasig, Manila, we just mesmerized and numb for a while. Giving a
total 100% performance for her Filipino lambs, it was indeed an
unforgettable night. Even Filipino superstars (Aga Mulach, Charlene
Gonzales, Aiko Melendez, Richard Guttierez with Anne Curtis, Ate
Glow); Ambassadors, politicians and ordinary fans were amazed at the
night she set on stage with a blast. The performance starts at 21:17
(GMT) with a front act AKA FELLAS managed by Franco "Jasper" Mabanta.
The real show started at 22:15(GMT) killing all the long-gap waiting.

Her repertoire that night:

* Heartbreaker / Heartbreaker Remix Medley
* Dreamlover
* Through The Rain
* My All
* Can`t Take That Away
* Honey
* I Know What You Want
* My Saving Grace
* Band Introduction
* I`ll Be There - Trey Lorenz
* Friend of mine - Trey & two lovely back-up ladies
* Fantasy
* Make It Happen
* Without You
* Hero
* Butterfly [overture]

The funny thing she said on stage was "I'm scared now. There was a
bug in the stage". The night was filled with inspiration,
astonishment and enjoyment. I hope Mariah will be back here again
soon. God bless. To Mariah thank you for the wonderful evening and to
lambs around the globe keep it up.

regine is the only singer who can reach the highest notes. Regine has more vocal prowess than mariah. Her whistles are just equals to regine's "birit". hindi yun speaking voice ang ipinanggamit ni mariah to break the bottle, but her snging voice. u get what i mean? the voices that opera stars use.. hindi pa nga naitry ni regine na magbreak ng glass, pero most probably kaya niya yan kasi mas may power naman talaga ang lungs ni regine, eh... God Bless Regine!! Good Luck naman kaya Mariah..

i totally agree with you mas mataas ang normal voice ni regine compared to mariah.Mariah just whistle para so that she can reach high notes but regine doesnt have to do that because her normal voice is very powerful.

Yeah. Mariah Carey was great. Ackafellas sang a series of local and Mowtown hits. It was an amazing performace. They ended their front act stint with a song which they personally dedicated to La Prima Mariah... Bongga ka Day. It was entertaining.
1. Mariah came in, in a glittering silver outfit.. pucha super sexy... kita kita mo ang legs na full na full.. legs pa lang ulam na... at ang supper glossy na automatic boobs nya.
2. She started with her more popular upbeat songs like heartbreaker, and dreamlover. And yes. She hit those high notes live.
2. She belted out powerful tunes.. particularly notable is her rendition of My saving Grace... the one true proof that she still has got it. Contrary to what others believe that she's lost it. She did great with Through thr Rain and Can't take that Away and Without You.
3. Automatic Princess...; da best... para syang barbie doll. Kyla herself was awestruck when she personally met Mariah in her room and said "Ang ganda ganda nya"
4. The band introduction was innovative. She sang like a typic jazz lounge singer, proving her versatility as a performer. She introduced them one by one with her own witty spiels, and that great cloudy voice.
5. Mariah's concert was a gathering of Celebrities and personalities. Of course there is a sigting of a notable number of foreign audience...proff that she's not that laos after all
6. Damn.. she can really sing... regine fans... you will just have to accept it. She proved it. I'm not taking away from you your opinion that regine is a better singer... but damn Mariah really proved herself up there.
7. Pop quiz... Regine and the rest of SOP stars made their mini tribute to Mariah hours before the concert. On back to back to back... Ogie and Jano sang Open arms and Without You, Jaya sang Cant Take that Away, and Regine capped it with her beautiful rendition of through the Rain... at least I'm one Mariah fan who acknowledges that Regine does beautiful renditions of Mariah songs. and She really does, and she ought to diba?
8. Mariah sang Hero in what was reportedly a Roberto cavalli ostrich feather gown... pretty subtle. Not what I expected. I was linggering to her performaces of Hero during her daydream concrt in Tokyo and at the Madison Square Garden.... whre shetastefully lashed out some pretty high notes on the bridges and on the final chorus.. Her manila rendition somewhat compares to her Tribute to Heros rendition.
9. But over all......Galing talaga ng concert ni Mariah.
10. Yes she headed to Amanpulo for a much needed break.

Emancipation Proclamation
Mariah Carey vocalizes with critic Lorraine Ali about the high (and low) notes on her new CD.

Markus Klinko & Indrani
Carey: 'I've never felt so free'

April 18 issue - Mariah carey has a nick-name, Mimi, and a new theme—freedom. The singer's eighth album, "The Emancipation of Mimi," is an attempt to leave behind all her baggage (i.e., an oppressive marriage and some commercial failures) and head for the nearest party. The 35-year-old now sings more club-savvy numbers and does it with rap heavyweights like Snoop Dogg, Nelly and Twista. Multitalented producers including Jermaine Dupri, the Neptunes and Kanye West keep spirits high.

MARIAH CAREY: Is this one of those things where you attack me, and I have to defend why I made the album the way I did?

LORRAINE ALI: It won't be that vicious. I'll talk about your new album—what I like and what I don't like—and you'll get a chance to talk back to a critic.
This could get very abusive.

Look at it this way: all we have to talk about is music. No tabloid stuff.
Ohhh, we like that.

Overall, this album is really vibrant and free. The emancipation theme works right from the first track, "It's Like That."
That's great, because I've never felt so free making a record, though I was worried about even putting the lyric "This is Mimi's emancipation" in there. I worried that it was too corny. Now it's the album title.

It works because this is such a fun, confident record. But there is one recurring theme that becomes a sort of buzz kill: cheating men. I'm never going to trust one again after listening to this CD. There are so many dogs here!
But it's true. I don't want to sound sexist—in print, at least—but honestly, you know how it is when you talk to girlfriends. Everybody has a story that's really depressing. It's not like I set out to make it that way. I think there's a lot of optimism on the record—but there's a lot of cheaters, too.

My favorite song here is "Say Somethin'." Pharrell and Chad, of the Neptunes, make the most unique tracks out there. This song has an Asian-influenced melody and jazzy beats, but it will be a huge hit with hip-hop fans. This is so far from anything I've heard you do.
You're right. It is a totally different approach for me musically. When I heard it at first I thought it was a cool and interesting track, but I didn't know if it was very me.

But you're totally comfortable here, and even a little slap-happy with the lyrics.
Thanks. I wrote that line "Something like volcanic/You and me seems organic/Just like stars and planets." It's nonsense, but I love it.

Then Snoop comes in right after your celestial bit and drops the megaromantic line: "This track is from the Neptunes. Baby, follow me to the restroom."
[Laughs] I know. It's so sentimental, isn't it?

"We Belong Together" is a pretty ballad, and I like that retro, slow-jam feel, but it's so sad that it hurts.
It does? Like in a bad way?

Yeah, it's pretty depressing.
But look at my past songs, like "Heartbreaker" or "Fantasy." You may think those songs were happy little ditties but, truthfully, they were steeped in misery. "We Belong" is sad, but some people really love it and make me play it over and over—like four times. In the beginning it wasn't my favorite, either.

The ballad I love is "Fly Like a Bird." There's so much going on. It has some classic '90s-era Mariah, as well as your new, more urban sound—plus a choir. It's such an uplifting song, and your voice sounds just amazing.
Thank you. Usually, I'll have an introspective bleak-outlook-on-life song. In the past it's been "Petals" or "Close My Eyes." Those were the ones that the hard-core fans related to most. But this has a hopefulness to it. That's why it's one of my favorites, too.

And, lyrically, it lives outside the...
The love world?

And the world of romance in restrooms.
[Laughs] Don't forget the world of mistrusting men eternally.

Twista plays the role of one of those bad men on "One and Only." The song
sounds good, but here's my problem. Lyrically, he's the playa and you're the girl who'll be around no matter how badly he treats you. And I just don't believe it. You're too powerful to take that crap.
Well, I look at it like he's a featured artist, not like we're having a true love affair. It's only a record.

You mean you two are not really a couple?!
Ha! When I wrote the song it was like you said—it was one of those you'll-never-trust-a-man-again. That was the initial vibe. I don't know. Maybe I gotta look at it again. I didn't mean to suggest I'm following Twista all around like a sick puppy.

I can see the tabloids now: The Twisted Relationship of Mariah and Twista.
Of course, darling, I'm in a relationship with everybody.

The playa song here that does work is "Get Your Number," with Jermaine Dupri. It's so over the top—he brags about the "Cris on ice, the Benz." It's like a cartoon, and it's fun. In fact, the only other song I don't like is the ballad "I Wish You Knew." It's so melodramatic, and there's the fake audience in the background. It's cheesy.
I know, but that was the point—to make it really retro and funny, and I even talk to the audience. We just got carried away.

It doesn't work for me.
Well, there are people who like this kind of thing—something to sing at the karaoke bar on that one night a week they get out and wear that special dress.

So is it safe to say this is your first karaoke-inspired track?
If you must put it that way, OK, fine.

So I think we've covered most of the album.
At least I didn't have to explain the lyric "Them chickens is ash and I'm lotion."

Aha! I forgot to ask you for a translation.
And I almost escaped without explaining. Can we leave it up to the reader to see if they know what it is?

C'mon.
See, I did it as an empowering thing, so the girls could know they're hot, or pip, or whatever. See, they're not the chickens, they're the lotion. [Laughs] Never mind.

You realize you're going to have to include a decoder ring with this album.
I totally am. [Sighs] It's just one more thing I have to remember to do.
