Advantage 1. Any condition, circumstance, opportunity, or means, particularly favorable to success, or to any desired end; benefit;

Loss of advantage; the loss of opportunity to succeed in the desired end, a goal. The loss of this opportunity would constitute a foul being awarded.

I therefore put this to you if team A is on a fast break say three on one, player Z from team B commits a foul on player X from team A, but X retains reasonable possesion; has ball in hand or on water uncontested and is then possibly able to get a safe pass away.
Do you 1. play advantage or 2. call the foul and let team B retreat enough to get a defense set up.

I guess what I am trying to say here and in my last post is that it is up to the refeeres descretion what is rulled advantage and as long as you are consistint it does not really matter, as a player I wish advantage would be played more often it speeds the game up and if a foul is of a cardable nature it can be awarded at the next break of play.
