Certainly a good point raised here as we really need to become more professional in conducting our sport. Ages ago I was sort of under the impression that if a red card is issued then the player is meant to appear before a competition judiciary before they are allowed to play again... but I guess that fell by the wayside a bit.

At the moment is the threat of a red card just not playing for the rest of the game? It should be more... to be issued a red card it theoretically means that a player has committed a serious offence so there should be some sort of competition hearing into the matter at least...

If a red card has been issued maybe we need to put the player involved on a probationary period where any further cards gained lead to a fine/game suspension....
