 I think he is attempting to be polite

There is gear out there in National league that I don't feel should be on the water. If we wanted to get really tough we could advise players they will be sent off the water if gear is not totally up to standard
(e.g. all external seams taped, all helmet bolts taped, no rusty face guards, no peeling or flaking paint on any equipment...)
