If you are interested in fundraising initiatives, the following sites may give you iinformation and application forms:

http://www.hillarysport.org.nz/hillaryhome.shtml The community sport fund has half a million dollars to give, and it's organised around the Hillary Commission. The entry form you receive needs to be specific to your club's location, and you need to apply for Youth development or Project development.

http://www.sportnz.co.nz/ This site has regional information. You should be able to find sponsors for your regional sport foundation. These sponsors often have websites with applications to download and criteria listed. Note that these communityu trusts (eg ASB Trust in Auckland- http://www.asbtrusts.org.nz/ ) often have a lot of money, more than the community sport fund and they are more likely to give money for equipment.

http://www.lion-nathan.com/lionfoundation.cfm The Lion Foundation is the head office for the Pub Charities organisation. If a pub has gaming machines, then it will have an application form for the trust. Choose your pub wisely, and make sure you go there to develop a relationship with the manager, so that your application is supported.

This site is for the depatrment of Internal Affairs. A range of trusts, including those from gaming societies, are listed here.

http://www.fis.org.nz/ Funding Information service, which includes "FUNDVIEW", which is the database of trusts and community grants organisations.

PLEASE NOTE:
1. Apply for the same project to several sponsors. You must hit as many as possible. Be prepared for setbacks and denials.

2. Have a close look at the criteria for applying. Take note of application criteria that will see your application rejected. Make your project compelling, and make sure the people listed on the application do know what you are applying for.

3. Be careful to pay attention to any regional or local specifications- make sure your addresses match the locations that the trust will assist.

4. Make sure your figures add up

Hope this helps anyone who is interested.
