Thanks to the various parties who have decided to contribute to
a discussion on what format we should use for our national
competition. The Competitions Director (James Mitchell) is
currently working with his other council members to get an
indication of peoples interest in the proposed format in time
for the next Board Meeting (7 Feb) where a decision will be
made. If anyone wants to have their say please make sure you
contact James in advance of this date.

A couple of points I would like to clear up...
Southern Region - to answer your question Vish there is
currently no Southern Rep. on the Board and Southern is not
legitimately incorporated as a region. However, polo is being
played in both Dunedin and Invercargill and this year NZCPA will
be working on getting these areas involved with our programme.

Travel Eqaulisation - would be implemented using a formula that
uses the lowest possible airfares or land travel available for
travel from where each team orginates to the tournament city
(i.e., T.E. is not calculated on their actual expenses). Soon
after entry into national league the amount a team could expect
to be refunded or would be required to pay would be avialable.
By using this system (also used by several other national sports)
teams still have the incentive to make sure they book those
lowest possible airfares, etc. - if they don't they will be
covering the additional costs and not the rest of entries in
national league.
