My AA truck trips have mostly been because of blown gearboxs, I think I have done three in my history of large engines and they all seem to have happend with loads of people around. Apart from the latest incident when I managed to blow a gearbox and seize an engine at the same time!!!?? how the hell did i do that.

But looking back over the years I have never (apart from my gearbox blowing fetish and one dropped valve on a fecked engine)had one major breakdown that has made the car undrivable, this might be because I have fixed alot of stuff by the side of the road however.

What sorts of things have put your cars off of the road and how did you fix them, has anyone got any service area engine overhaul storries or are you all AA memebers?
