Can anyone remember, being with PFC Earl Russell Cobb on or around September 4, 1967? Russell was my best friend and I've always wanted to find out exactly what took place on the day he gave the Ultimate Price for his country (9/4/1967). Russell was a wild and crazy guy. He always liked to take chances when we were growing up together. Russell was in CO. A 22 Inf./25th Inf. Division. He took his last breath;, some where in the Tay Ninh area of Nam. I would just feel better knowing what really was happening on the day he died. The last letter I received from him was written in red ink and he told me about the Pontaic Firebird he was planning on getting, when he got home. Well, he never made it home. I would just like to know the true facts about what happened. I helped carry Russell to his final resting place at the Ward Cemetery on Kellys Creek, which is about 1 mile out of the town of Cedar Grove, WV. Russell's death made me wise up and sign up for 3 years. I ended up being a 62B30 Heavy equipment mechanic with CO. A 46th Eng. Bn.,69-70 based at Long Binh.
