CHRISTMAS EVE 1967 I WAS STILL A NEW GUY IN PHU-BI, ASSIGNED TO 3RD SHORE PARTY BN, WAITING ORDERS TO GO UP NORTH.I WAS SENT OUT WITH TWO OTHER GUYS, A (3) MAN TEAM BY CHOPPER, WE WERE TAKING A BIG GUN OUT TO THE TOP OF SOME HILL I DONT REMEMBER THE NUMBER? THE CHOPPER CAME DOWN DROPPED THE GUN AND MOVED TO ONE SIDE WE (3) JUMPED OFF.THEN AS I WATCHED IT,THE CHOPPER FLEW AWAY,NO ONE ELSE THERE? THE GRUNTS WERE MOVING UP, TO TAKE OVER, THEY WERE TO BE THERE BY DARK, YA LIKE HELL !GUY IN CHANGE SAID WELL BOYS MERRY CHRISTMAS, WE ARE HERE FER THE NIGHT!WISH I KNEW WHO THOSE TWO WERE?ANYWAY MERRY CHRISTMAS,SEMPER FI !
