>>Cu Chi during Tet 1968....wow what a time it was! I was with the 725th Maint Batt located across from the 25th Evac area at the end of the runway. Our company area got hit hard during my time there from 9/67 to 9/68. The location at the end of the runway was always in the path of the "walking" of morters and rockets up and down the air strip. My platoon also manned PC's from the 3/4 Cav during TET, due to the lack of personel to man them from the 3/4 Cav. Welcome home my friend! It is always a strange feeling to look back and see how close at times I was to not coming home. I feel very fortunate to have come back, as many of our friends did not. It came down to how the one who was shooting the rocket or morter at us was breating at the time he fired. A slight twinge and it could have been me not returning home, many close calls ! I have been to "The Wall" about 4 times, a very sobering experience each time. I am still very proud of my service and dedication over there, regardless of the return home environment. If my memory is correct you were over near the main base flag pole, there was a 125th comm bunker in that area.
