I WAS A FORWARD FINANCE OFFICER FOR THE 101ST FINANCE COMPANY 1970-1971 OUT OF PHU BAI. I WAS DETAILED TO CONDUCT FINANCE OPERATIONS WITH A COMPANY IN THE ASHAU VALLEY AROUND FSB BASTOGNE. IT WAS AN AIR INSERTION AT DAWN. THE COMPANY HAD JUST COMPLETED A NIGHT AMBUSH. IT WAS AFTER I HAD COMPLETED FINANCE OPERATIONS WITH THE UNIT THAT WE MOVED DOWN THE TRAIL TO THE LZ. I WILL NEVER FORGET THE DEAD BODIES OF THE 6 GOOKS AND I FEMALE, THE SMELL OF BLOOD AND BODY PARTS EVERY WHERE. I AM IN NEED OF INFORMATION ON THE UNIT AND GRID COORDINATES MAR-MAY 1971.
I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP WHATSOEVER THIS IS FOR MY PTSD CLAim AND HAVE RUN INTO MANY ROADBLOCKS.

I was then medivaced
to benhua then the long lonely trip back face down on a stretcher.If anyone can tell me his name I could then put a name to his dying face that haunts me.I relive that day every day and wonder if I did enough to try to save him. Being a point man and in country almost a year I thought I had experienced almost every emotion possible until that day.Now since november 6,1971@8.00am I am not home yet please leave on a light for me so I can find my way back home and maybe find myself again.
