That Touch of Yours

A verdant season
has fattened all the trees;
here, where we spread
this cloth and ourselves
on the warm and living ground.
Remembrance of flowing water,
of sensation that wishes to soothe
our heated feet, dries to nothing
and leaves us alone
with the delicate breeze.

Put your hand to my cheek,
your lips to mine
and breathe the life
we continue to share.
This day is something priceless,
this sun the bringer
of a thousand treasures,
and that touch of yours
so precious, love,
like a summer that never ends.
