I don't know if this like the other posts I made will get posted or not but here goes.
First I would like to say to the moderator of this board why not post mine but you let people post using Jake Wilders name? And I thought the purpose of email is to stop fake ass people posting like the person using a fake hotmail account.

Now on to Jake Wilder and Bob Hemphill.
YES! I knew both!
Very few if any can make this statement truthfully.
I have been to both of their yards in S.C. and MO.

I guess I could have bred Duster to Maud and had pure Hemphill bloodlines but our interest wasn't of the Hemphill bloodline or for that matter was it of Creed's.

It was one for winning! We had dogs which were crossed and wanted to match them up with dogs from the same bloodlines.
We bred Spike to Maud for the purpose of line breeding Spike to his mother's side. Was there gamedogs, SURE! There were more then one or two Pit Dogs? Very few.

When it comes to our breeding program it wasn't about a bloodline it was about continued winning.

We owned four females off Taffy's brother John 2xw bred to his mother Susie Que 2xw.
None of the 4 were Pit Dogs. They were Duchess, Lady, Queenie and Little John aka Game & Grit.

As you know Little John aka Game & Grit went on and produced Ch. Turtle Buster and is heavy in the pedigree of Ch. 410.

Point is, after they were inbred or tight line bred they had to be crossed to produce a high percentage of winners or champions.

The last breeding was Taffy to Max, her sire.
MAN did we produce winners! 4 out of 4 and champions and Gr. Ch.

So what did it tell us about Spike to Maud, John to Susie, Taffy to Max? The power came from the Creed blood.
Back before they were felonies and the game was strong, without power all you had was a roll dog.

But there was a problem with Creed dogs as well, to tight and they were boxy.

So we did another breeding, Taffy to her half brother Spike off Max.
Champions again. Spike was crossed out to a Neblett/Qullian's Big Mike blood female named Mickey and produced a champion. Maybe the Neblett in both was the nick because L.A. Dream Team sent a female name Panther from the same family of dogs as Mickey and was bred to Ch. Iron Bobcat produced Ch. Smash.

So sons of Spike/Taffy was producing winners and champions for other people. This continue with the Yankee Boys, KG & Co., Triple J, Don Tito, Menace Kennels, Woodtic, Delar with Ch. Hagler, etc, etc.

So what was to conclusion? To have winners, as Bob Hemphill knew when he bred Dibo into his line, heavy OFRN, including his, had to be crossed to have winners.

Like I already said, yes we could have bred Maud into Duster, but then again, for what? Paper breeding? Because we wouldn't have had winners.

Winning is what it is all about...........

If I have said it once I have said it a thousand times, what hurts the Hemphill/Wilder dogs is the fact to many people breeding for paper purity and not for winning.

Bob knew this and so did Jacob. This is why I think Jacob was crossing more and more.
BTW, YES I have saw Hemphill dogs, I saw his whole yard and very few were red nose! About 20 to 25% were.
What got so famous was from Jake and if it wasn't for Jacob the Hemphill bloodline today would no longer exist!

I have seen many Hemphill/Wilder breeders come and go over the years and it always the same old thing, purity and peddling and not adding creditability to the line by winning.

The last I knew of dogs from pure Hemphill bloodline was Debby from Cinn. who had Ty triple crossed down from a sister of Duster. This was about 15 years ago and I lost track of her.

To my knowledge there are no more pure Hemphill bloodline left. It all has been crossed for the same reason. To try and get winners or improve on the line.

I noticed the subject of Ron. Tim Elkins of Ohio bought the last 10 dogs from Ron. All weren't worth feeding. Tim ended the line of Ron's dogs.

Now there are many experts who will sit in judgement of Billy T and I and everyone else who owned dogs before 1980 and was around the people who had the dogs in these pedigrees and people will disagree with us and call us lairs and cheats but ya know what?

Billy, just like I have been successful with other lines and had winners as well.
Gizmo, etc, Check, etc.
These lines had more champions then all the Hemphill/Wilder breeders put together.

Remember what makes this breed different from the rest,
in the pass, the "Proof was in the performance."

So when all these fast mouth expects seem to have all the answers and call others lairs and cheats from the pass, first ask if they ever wanted to prove them wrong or prove what was said and second ask what they had done to be successful!
