14 is not too young for transportation. i had an ancestor who was transported at 14 to sydney. im trying to find my ancestor Edward Rowbotham who married in sydney in 1855. i believe he may have been born in the sheffield area about 1818-1820. the family had were connceted to the silverware company wingfield-rowbotham as they brought alot of the silverwar (knives & forks) with them which i still have.
any ifo would be appreciated.

George Rowbotham is my GGG Grandfather - he did come to Australia on the Asia (though I think it was 1827) and he married another convict Ann Harris who was transported in 1834. They married and had a son in 1837 - and had a further 8 children together. I have further information if you wish to contact me.
