>>>Why is Jesus made so important?<<<
According to volume 1 of the 2nd edition (2001) of the "World Christian Envyclopedia. A comprehensive survey of churches and religions in the modern world", page 3, there were at the time of writing 33820 distinct Christian denominations across the world. Obviously they can't all be right, maybe none of them is right. Per page 5 the churches' income was 296 million dollars, and 44 million was lost by ecclesiasical crime (sums embezzled.) [Thou shalt not steal].
..... I can see that stories were propagated to maximise income, and probably it paid institutions to have as many people sin as much as possible so that these sinners then tried to bribe God to forgive them their sins by giving money and/or free goods and services to religious authorities.
..... As I understand it, Jesus was a Jewish social reformer who tried hard to help those who needed and deserved help. He saved many from the miseries and problems of "the world". That's why Jesus was VERY important to many.

>>>... aren't we all [God's} children?<<<
God is said to have created everything, and some of the books of the bible have several definitions of who are the children of God. Jesus, for example, is reported to have said that all peacemakers will be called sons of God (Matt.5:9).

>>>God should be the big deal.<<<
Jesus prayed a lot to God, and obviously regarded God as "the big deal".

>>>Why should we have to go through a man to get to God.<<<
That's part of the doctrine of many or even most of the denominations of Christianity. Going direct to the manufacturer may be much cheaper than going to the (more convenient?) retailer via all the middlepersons who all need their income too!

>Why is Jesus made so important? Why is he so big.

Theresa,

Because He is the very source of life. "I Am the resurrection and the life" (John 11:25)

His
>is the Son of God but aren't we all His children?

No. Jesus is the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:16) We, however, are children by adoption, the redemption of our bodies. (Romans 8:23)

>There may be something special about a guy thet
>prefoms miracles but he dit it because of God. God
>picked this one guy but God should be the big deal.

He performs miracles and is very special, and is a big deal because He (is) God. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1) Could the Son of God be disobedient to the Father? No! "The Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world" (1 John 4:14)

>Why should we have to go through a man to get to God. We must do it God's way. "I Am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through me" (John 14:6)

Theresa, I hope you keep searching for answers from the Bible!
