Subject: Multi-monitor hell

I am running 9 monitors off my 9600. I am doing this with 3 8MB iX3D dual-head cards, and 3 of the Apple OEM 8MB TwinTurbo cards (the kind that came in the 9600) I have a G3 400MHz in the system and am running an (almost) pristine copy of 8.6

I am having all sorts of problems, mostly with initialization after the startup chime. Half the time I will only get a gray screen on some of the monitors (and it hangs there) or better yet I will get scrambled colors and sometimes even pieces of my desktop picture.
When it does boot the iX3D driver (I am using v2.00) does recognize the 3 3D cards and accelerate them, and the 9600 Graphics Accelerator (v1.0.4) does the same for the TTs, but the system is very unstable. The Apple cards also exhibit font display problems after a period of time.

My attempt to install a 4th 3D card resulted in death of the system - chime then nothing at all. No combination of cards or slots would work with 4 3D cards. I do notice that my 4th card is not like the others. The firmware sticker claims to be the same version as the other 3 but it is printed with a different font and there are other markings on the card that are not on the others. "FCC Approved" for example.

I know there are no official iXMicro people here, but if anyone can shed some light on how to fix the fonts, improve stability, what version of drivers I should be using, or how to get more 3D cards to work (I need 12 screens) Your insight would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt
