Yes, in dancing your instructors DO teach you and help you to learn how to get over your toes properly. You see, you need to be all the way over what we call a "box" (which is just the tip of the pointe shoe) they teach you not to roll in or out. (which would mean going on pointe but standing over you little toe. that is rolling out. Rolling in would be going to much over your big toe. You always want to be evenly over your box) A good excersie to learn more about how to get over your toe correctly would be to start standing in parallel position. Then, slowly rise up over onto your toe. look in the mirror to check to see if you are all the way over and that you are not rolling in or out. do this a few times to get used to the correct way of doing "toe stands" I hope this helps. It may be confusing but that is my only advice! Hope it helps!
