I did irish dancing for 6 years.. and toe stands killed my feet. My doctor advised me to stop irish. So i went to ballet. After 2 years i'm in pointe, and the teacher preps the students so well for pointe, doing different excercies to allow us to feel how we should stand on pointe. Getting up on your toes IN NOT light business.. these are your feet that your walking on for th rest of your life.. so take care of them! If it's too expensive or something for you to be taking ballet and irish, i'd advise you to buy "pointe toe equiptment". theres a brand called "bunheads" that cell jellies for your feet, REALLY GOOD! anyway, good luck!!
