He didn't call me or ask me to call him when I e-mailed to request that I be allowed to post again. That was a couple of months after all the shit hit the fan with the Ban Americans Day hosted by Sharmalee. He did once call and leave a message on my machine while that was happening, though. And my "warnings" have been coming to my work e-mail which I find slightly freakish as the e-mail address I provided was an AOL address.

I think I do this for a lot of the same reasons Kevin does...just to add a little variety from time to time. Besides, I think a few like Sana and Mehreen are nice people and trying to have friendly conversations with the token Americans.

S,

How the hell did they get a hold of your work email? This is sinister!

I'm paranoid about privacy. Dang, I need a Gun!

I dunno. Either they traced the IP number or I e-mailed someone from it without thinking. I'm holding off on the sinister interpretation and sticking with slightly freakish for now.

The slightly freakish part is even if I did e-mail someone from it, why the hell would they keep a record of it? I never gave that as my contact info.

Bad enough that I got my school's block of IP numbers banned. You won't see too many teachers from Mississippi on that site. I've made sure of that. ;)

These people are clearly paranoid... I just hope that's where it ends. More important than HOW they got yer work email (not hard at all since they have your full name, it doesn't take anything remotely brilliant to find an email of someone who had a site on the web). HOWEVER, **WHY** did they feel the need to seek out an email other than the one you provided?

a) Very paranoid, but too stupid to keep the fact that they found your work email to themselves?

b) Very paranoid, and hoping to intimidate with their "impressive" (giggle) cyber detective skills..they hope you'll freak and leave voluntarily if they "mysteriously" email you at an address you didnt give them

c)Very paranoid. Thats all... just paranoid... and taking names and numbers in case some board poster tries to terrorize them. We are a pretty scarey crowd! ha ha

It wouldn't have been hard at all for them to get my e-mail address. It wouldn't have been unlikely at all that I gave it to them. I'm not concerned. I just go hmmmm when I get something from them at work.

I'm actually more curious about why they refused to allow me to post an article from a Pakistani paper claiming that the Urdu press reported the death of Daniel Pearl differently than the English language press. That was a much longer hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Asim said the article was leftie propaganda. He was very polite about it, though.
