Everyone in Mississippi lives "out from" one of these cities. I live between New Orleans and Mobile, but it is "out from" New Orleans. Once, my students were talking about how they couldn't wait to get out of this podunk, backassward place. I said there were only two ways out. Jump off the levee or hitchhike to "town."
