Okay, I admit the friend who made the comment is going through a divorce and tends to be slightly embittered at times, but...

The pity parties I've attended hosted by women ain't gotten nothin' on the ones I've seen from men. Women--sometimes, not always--have infinite capacity for the putting the practical ahead of the emotional (some call it mercenery, but I like the word practical). I've known very few men who could say the same once they'd been well and truly caught by the tail of a big whopper of an emotion.

In a nutshell--Love can make a jackass out of anyone. I tell you what.

I have experienced friendship with them, but never a true love. The libido issue is really just a joke on my part, something to hide behind. Maybe I just haven't met the right person??
