Let me live briefly as a burst of laughter in the heart of another. Even better, let me linger as the gush of warmth that follows a burst of laughter.

Way too young for me. Girls mature faster than boys, remember.

It wasn't an offer on this end either. Just an observation.

Most men fear me--with good reason. Those who aren't afraid, love--with good reason.

Actually, any woman with an education and a 401k outclasses the majority of the population around here. But that's true in reverse as well. And I would guess it's true in a lot more places than Mississippi.

Rednecks exist everywhere. Don't kid yourself that Mississippi has a monopoly. :)

You wouldn't scare me for sure, unless you bite. Now nibbling is okay. Do you play billiards too?

Education doesn't necessarily come from a university. I've seen people with Ph.D.s who had no education.

I'm not talking about "school of hard knocks" or "common sense" either. I'm talking about working brain cells.

I have one brother who has two Ph.D.s. One in electrical engineering from Syracuse. One in physics from Johns Hopkins. I have another brother who dropped out of community college. In my mind, they are equally educated and equally successful. Education is something you give yourself by feeding information and ideas into your head. A university can provide a place do that, but it is really only for the lameasses who can't figure out how to do it themselves.

If you engage in a lifelong process of learning, you are educated, no matter what the papers say. If you don't, you are ignorant, no matter what the papers say.

I've learned a lot more on my own than I ever learned in school. And I spent a lot of time in school.

Degrees are convenient for getting jobs in places that put value on those things. But they don't actually get the job done.

Maybe on my way through Mississippi I'll stop in for a quick game and lunch. And who knows, you might get lucky. :o)

Saying you play billiards is a good way to get your ass kicked where I come from. I have defeated many a man at the pool table, though, by smiling and saying innocently, "Oh, how do you play this? Show me how to hold the stick."

I have seen college educated people with no common sense at all that have a hard time dealing with the real world. I have seen high school graduates with no college who act and converse more intelligently than college grads.

A college degree is still a must have, but it is wasted on some (me thinks).

Your thoughts on my speculation?
