Silver filly watched the stallion nervously, her muscles tensed. Then, in seeing that he meant no harm, she relaxed and whickered, dipping her head in greeting. A cold wind blew, ruffling her mane. She looked at the ever rising water with worried eyes, backing into the cave.

Smokey colt poked his head out of the cave curiously. On unsteady legs, he stumbled towards the stallion. He stopped before the bay, and gazed up. His eyes grew wide with wonder. Then, he thrust his tiny grey muzzle towards the stallion. Trembling slightly with fear.

A shaft of sunlight peeped behind a cloud, fleetingly. Sunlight danced on the colt's smokey coat, shimmering with rose fire. The dark eyes glinted red. The world grew dark again...
