I may just keep the spell components in there, at least for hiring NPCs to cast spells. Players will not be required to deal with them, but I will make it part of the fee for NPC spell-casting.

BTW I think, because I will be using a more "realistic" economic model, it will be fairly difficult to come up with a 500 gp diamond. Imagine what it was like when you first logged onto UO for the first time. Now imagine the only way you can get a diamond, is to run the guantlet of PKs and dragons in Despise armed only with your newbie sword and protected by your neon green shirt and brown britches. hehe
